Custom solid wood furniture
We work in small batches, not on a production line. That means a size is not a fixed spec: if your wall needs 112 cm, we make it 112 cm.
Standard furniture is designed for a wall that does not exist. The result is the five-centimetre gap on one side, the shelf that does not reach, the board that runs past the window frame.
Since we cut and assemble every piece by hand, adapting one costs the same as making one. It is not a separate service: it is how we work.
What can be adjusted
The size
Length and, on shelving, depth as well. You give us the real gap — wall to wall, or wherever you want it to stop — and we adjust the cut. On the Cubo shelving you also choose how many cubes and which sizes.
The wood
Paraná pine for a pale tone and a discreet grain, salignas if you prefer a reddish base with more figure, guayubira for accessories where the grain is seen up close. All solid: no chipboard, no veneer.
The finish
Natural oil or wax, natural or in darker tones. Oil leaves the wood to the touch and lets you repair it with local sanding; varnish would seal the grain and force you to strip the whole piece.
How a commission works
Tell us the space
Wall-to-wall measurement, the type of wall (brick, concrete or plasterboard) and what you plan to put on it. A photo and three measurements usually do.
We confirm what fits
We tell you what composition works, in which wood, and what it costs before you pay anything. If what you are asking for will not hold the weight you want on it, we say so.
It gets made
Cutting, joinery, sanding and finishing by hand, in the Barcelona workshop. Being a small batch, your piece joins the run in production.
Shipped or collected
Packaging designed so it arrives intact anywhere in Spain. In Barcelona we can arrange delivery directly.
Frequently asked questions about commissions
How long does a custom piece take?
It depends on the piece and on the batch running at the time. We give you the real lead time when confirming the order, before you pay anything. We would rather say three weeks and keep to it than promise one and miss.
Does custom cost more than standard?
It depends on how much wood it uses and how complex the joinery is, not on it being custom. Shelving shorter than standard can come out cheaper. We quote a closed price before starting.
Can you copy a piece I saw elsewhere?
We work from our own designs and adapt them to your space. We do not reproduce other studios pieces.
What if my wall is plasterboard?
It can be mounted, but the anchor changes and it holds less weight. Tell us when ordering and we will advise which anchor to use; if what you want to place is too heavy for that wall, we will tell you before selling you the piece.
Do you make fitted wardrobes or kitchens?
No. We make furniture and objects: shelving, mounts and accessories in solid wood. For a full carpentry refit we are not the right workshop, and we would rather say so.
